Genes2Me launched a real-time PCR kit that can detect influenza, RSV, and SARS-CoV-2 by identifying COVFlu, influenza A/B, RSV, RNase P, and COVID-19 with the help of different dyes. The company stated that the DCGI-approved kit can detect any known variant of omicron in a single process. The ICMR-approved validation center reported the kit is a 100% sensitive and specific test. 

Gupta, Founder, and CEO of Genes2Me stated that the kit’s run time is less than 50 minutes which will help in increasing the efficiency and daily testing capacity of diagnostic labs. He informed that 5 million kits are being manufactured in a week currently, however, it will be scaled up to 1 million with demand. 

The kit has also been launched on the Rapi-QHT platform, a rapid point of healthcare solutions by Genes2Me that provides results in 30 minutes. According to the company, this platform can also be used for a mass screening program.
